Moriarty is from the grandaddy of all Detective stories - and while he's not the detective himself, he's known in both book canon and FGO canon to be Sherlock's intellectual equal. In canon, he even manages to tell who Salter (Artoria Alter) is before she tells him her name by using a deductive process remarkably similar to Sherlock's, so he's definitely got the same perceptiveness.
So! What I'm asking here is -
1. Do you want Moriarty to pick up things like tics, personality, how they hold themselves, the words they say, predicting what they're thinking via body language, etc. If you don't, it won't come up during tags! Not commenting to this is the same as opting out in my eyes, so!
2. If you're okay with it, then I'll need you to give me details about them. How's their normal body language? Is there anything strange about them magically or not that he could notice? Do they have any tics or nervous habits he'd pick up on? Anything on their bodies or visible markings or smells he'd notice and potentially be able to deduce from?
3. Anything else you want to add that I didn't mention but Moriarty would notice? Tell me here!
Injury (any kind, including torture): Yep, though it won't stick around permanently.
Death: /LAUGHS IN IMMORTALITY, aka yeah! Though ask me first, since I am trying to have it be on the dl for Moriarty for a bit.
Romance: That's a nah, chief. I play Moriarty as uninterested in romance.
Mind-reading: I'd like a heads up first, but sure!
Generally, I'm pretty chill! Honestly, just contact me if you wanna do something.
As for what characters will notice from Moriarty:
- Constantly 'on' with magic, if they have good senses. It'd feel like a spell of some sort is continually running.
- Those with good hearing or if they ever hug him will notice the lack of heartbeat.
- Has almost no reaction to most kinds of pain.
- His Butterfly spell is too advanced for the time period he says he's been alive, seeming more like something a mage family would work on over time or have bequeathed to them.
From Moriarty's app:
End of the Spider's Thread: A thin, easily dispelled magic 'thread' that he can stick to walls, objects, and people which allow him to know where people are within his 'web' / if they disturb it or enter it (within a 20 ft radius), and also allows him to listen into their conversations. Of course, though it's easily dispelled, it's nearly invisible to magic senses and physical ones - and those with keen senses will often only feel as if they've walked into a spider web when it attaches.
In essence, I'm asking if you would be willing to have your character be bugged / have Moriarty be able to eavesdrop on conversations and know where they are if they're on campus / nearby him. I can also have him not catch all of conversations, if you'd like!
Not responding to this will be treated as the same as opting out, so no worries.
I'm just doing this for all three of mine in one comment
1. Sure, why not.
2. Normally it's pretty skittish, like she's used to having to make herself appear smaller to everyone around her. Her accent is pretty damn thick as her native languages are Arabic and Ancient Egyptian proper. As for smells, she smells pretty normal unless in the sun for a long period of time, in which she smells like lizard. Her canines are also a little longer than a normal person's.
Strings: Absolutely go for it, she wouldn't notice it to begin with.
Jolyne
1. Sure.
2. Very aggressive posturing most of the time. Very clearly American (Southern) accent, has a star birthmark on her left shoulder that would connect her to the Joestar bloodline if he knows about that whole mess. Also has a tattoo on her inner arm that corresponds to a motorcycle gang in the Florida area.
3. She has a criminal record out the ass, man, you know this.
Strings: Same as Kisara, go for it.
18
1. Yep.
2. Pretty neutral in posture, though usually carries herself as if ready to fight at any second, though more defensively than anything else. She's got magitech in her if he could notice any of that shit. If he can sense any kind of "living" energy, she has no signs of that what-so-ever despite very clearly alive. She also doesn't really have much of an accent since she's originally from Estonia, then moved to somewhere in Asia and between Estonian, English, Chinese, and Japanese, she kind of lost any real hint of an accent. Oops.
3. She's a cyborg. /slow shrug If he keeps an eye on information involving any hunter groups, she's part of a pretty famous-ish one in the Asia area. Also married to one of them. Also also there's probably some covered up information about her connections to a (now dead) mage who created some cyborgs and androids at one point. Look, they did their best to cover up the whole destruction thing they did plus Cell's whole mess.
Strings: Uhhh, you can. But she'd probably be the most able to be paranoid about that shit so probably not the best idea for him to go doing that. She's also kinda boring.

All three characters (Ky, Sherlock, Ryoga): Feel free to web them, they'll all notice the web-like feeling for different reasons, with Sherlock quickly dispel it, Ky trying to investigate and Ryoga just "?" over it.
As for Deductive reasoning:
Sherlock Look, I don't think we need to hash it out given who this is, though there's an air of self-discipline that wasn't there the last time they met.
Ky Ky has the air of someone with a strict discipline even when he's being a long-haired hippie - with the heightened awareness of his surroundings that suggest a military background and having been in war. As mentioned in the TDM, he has some scarring and calluses on his hands from sword play, he's not used to his current short hair (which grows much faster than normal), and wears a gold crucifix that is somewhat crude-looking, suggesting it's quite old. He has a habit of touching the crucifix when he's uneasy or unsure, or messing with his hair to busy those hands, but otherwise his body language is open and unguarded in most respects, but seeing him spar/move around in full plate would reveal he is perhaps stronger than he lets on.
-He has the constant faint smell of Petrichor and Ozone, like an area that got struck by lightning on top of the normal scents of an active person that keeps themselves clean.
Ryoga Ryoga's sense of direction is fucking terrible, so he's constantly looking around before he goes anywhere. He has elongated incisors (basically which would've turned into tusks if he could turn into a proper boar), and moves with a feral, animal-like smoothness. He has an almost defensive body language when speaking with older people, as if expecting the worst, and touches/grabs things with extreme delicacy in fear of breaking them due to his redonkulous strength. When he's agitated, he runs his foot against the ground like a boar pawing the earth. Especially seem to try to avoid getting wet.
-Ryoga would smell earthy, somewhat animal-like.

1. It's fine.
2.
- physical: Probably the most obvious thing is he's blind in his left eye. It will never focus, it's red (mark of a daemon? whatever). He has human bite mark scars on his right hand, overlapping ones indicating it's happened more than once. Moriarty might pick up on the angle making them self-inflicted. Toki's generally kind of twitchy and high-strung, always seems to be on the verge of panic. He's a major stepford smiler and is faking it 99% of the time. "I'm fine" = "I am the furthest thing from fine, help me."
- speech: He has a thick Japanese accent; he only learned French a few months ago and is working on English. Defaults to Japanese whenever possible. When he speaks English, he'll pronounce things incorrectly and use accents on the wrong syllables and so forth, because he learned it solely from textbooks with no spoken or auditory component and hasn't had much cause to use it yet when most of the school speaks French as well.
- tics: He succumbs to 'pressure of speech' constantly. Rapid fire run-on sentences and circumstantial "logic"; he does not think like your average person and his responses to things reflect that. His gestures are kind of flaily if he's trying to explain something.
- magic: I don't know if it's something he would notice, but Toki has two contracts; one with a daemon and one with a fey. If he has a vision around Moriarty, it will probably have something daemony about the magic signature or whatever.
- smells: He probably smells vaguely non-human because both of his powers (precognition and superspeed) come from contracts and are unnatural. He may occasionally smell like Jolyne.
3. His visions mostly manifest as absent seizures because he has temporal lobe epilepsy, though he doesn't know. Mess with that if you want, I guess.
Spider's Thread: Totally fine, if Moriarty wants to listen to relentless nonsensical babble, and occasional screaming.
We're puttin Two in One here,
1 - Heck yeah! Get ready for a very odd and definitely once-feral child, this kid spent 4 years alone wandering about in the outlands. Also notable is she seems to be Ukrainian (though she speaks Russian as a first language! ...only as much as a 5 year old would have), despite the name 'Reira'. She speaks English pretty well- largely because she has a natural ability to just pick up a sound/behavior and mimic it. It's genuinely accentless which, Super Weird. Reira isn't visibly skittish, but she DOES take a bit to trust humanoid people, being far more open around literally everything else- if she's not, it means she's picked up on something negative. (The reasoning- if he could draw this conclusion- is that people can, and often do, hide their emotions while beasts do not. If an animal is happy it probably won't hurt her. If a person is, they still might.)
Body Language on that note is a big big work in progress. On the one hand she wears her emotions on her sleeve, but on the other she's very clearly only learning how to experience those things...Now. On a smells note she probably smells like flowers, birds...it varies according to which sprite is doing the most.
3. I GENUINELY DO NOT KNOW, to be fair even I'm not 100% sure how Reira's background prior the Outlands stuff goes. But if it's relevant; Reira is alarmingly easy to possess due to the candle ability granting her empathy. She also has four sprites with her at all times, but is not the contract holder for them, and lastly, has apparently been drained of any magical potential she may have once had.
Anyway COOL STRINGS, I'M COOL WITH THEM. Since they're not dangerous, even the sprites wouldn't care if they Did notice.
GONGENZAKA
1. Heck yeah Gon's an open book
2. Gongenzaka is a naturally born werebear from the Gongenzaka 'Steadfast Dojo' of Japan, with a good amount of self control under his belt! He's a bear during the evenings, but can still talk. Wow. In any case, despite being 14 and in grade 8 (he's starting grade 9 in September to be fair- no failed years here! Gon's rather intelligent actually) he's also 5'8'', a bit over 6' thanks to the geta he wears, and built like a dang tank. He speaks fluent French with modern form, but his Japanese uses archaic styles of speech...and his English is heavily accented, with a lot of pausing to make sure he's got the words right.
He's also just, very very Good, though he can get a bit wound up about things like Rules and such. Lots of tradition to uphold! Lots of people to make happy!
Being a Werebear, he will Probably notice that lack of heartbeat if there's enough quiet around them. Oh Boy.
As for strings, while he'd feel like something happened, he'd...probably not really assume anything magical. Unless the feeling never leaves, in which case, MMMM he'd catch that. But otherwise String 'm up.

1: Sure.
2: Grimm is very animated and quite dramatic with his actions and speech, although it would come across quickly he's mostly like this because he finds it funny. Grimm is also a vampire (and the Troupe Master of the Grimm Troupe, the vampire clan he's master of) and makes no secret of it. Thanks to his powers over fire, Grimm smells like ash and smoke more often then not. Curiously despite being a vampire Grimm has a heartbeat. However if Moriarty actually checks (physically or magically) then he'll find it's an illusion brought on by the Nightmare Heart, which is the only thing that remains of the Grimm Troupe's creator, the Nightmare King.
As a result, Grimm has a number of scars on his chest. Had to get the Heart in somehow.
3: Sure. Feel free to PM me if you see a conversation that you'd like Moriarty to know about. Sometimes he'll actually catch Grimm speaking to himself on occasion and holding a conversation. Again, this is due to the Nightmare King's presence in Grimm's mind.
Nekane (
1: Sure.
2: The cracks on Nekane's face (which do extend to the rest of their body) and their bone wings are the two obvious things about them physically. Aside from that they have dark circles under their eyes because they don't sleep due to a huge phobia of the dark. Nekane is very touch adverse and tends to push people away when touched, but only has a violent reaction when grabbed by the wrists or someone grabs their wings. They possess a photographic memory and can manipulate shadows. Finally, while they claim to be a Contracted, the reality is Nekane is a strange angel/daemon hybrid due to circumstances in their past. They'll be very adamant that the angel part isn't a thing, however.
3: Sure. As with Grimm, feel free to send a PM if there's a conversation you'd like Moriarty to know about. One thing to keep in mind is that Nekane is extremely paranoid and as a detective themself it's not the first time they've been bugged. If they find out Moriarty bugged them then they'll make sure it doesn't happen again as best as they can.

2. Lia's normally fairly relaxed, but gets incredibly animated when excited or curious, and her movement tends to be bouncy. Particularly mindful of her language, careful not to swear, very clearly from NYC when she's heard speaking English, haha. Smells liked baked goods fairly often, given how much baking she does.
3. Can't think of anything immediately but uh, watch this space because I might come up with something.
Threads: Go for it! Just poke me if there's a conversation you'd like Moriarty to hear.

2. Therion's body language and presentation is almost always closed-off and subtly evasive: not facing people head-on, arms across the chest as a shield, brief eye contact only--the works. His left eye is always covered by his hair, and his outfits always put additional barriers between him and others, whenever he can get away with it. As fall starts, for example, he'll be wearing a scarf well before the weather really justifies it. He often draws it up and over the lower half of his face when he's uncomfortable. He also wears bulky sweaters or hoodies to hide the metal shackle on his right wrist, though there's only so much cloth can do to hide that.
Magically, Therion's pretty much always putting on a hey-don't-notice-me glamour in Moriarty's class to hide the fact he's nodding off in the back. He's also half-Fey, if that's the kind of thing Moriarty can tell.
3. His username on the Iris Network is tealeaf22. He's literally outing himself as a thief in Cockney rhyming slang. He thinks he's funny.
Spider Threads: Absolutely, especially if Therion ends up trying to lift something of Moriarty's. He's not experienced enough in this magic stuff to really notice. The thread would trump Therion's glamour at short range, so Moriarty would know where he is even if Therion's turned his unnoticeable act to max. At a distance, I'd leave that up to you. He's very active at night, which might explain why he's so tired in Moriarty's classes.
Listening in on Therion's conversations reveals that he goes out of his way not to say much about himself while continuously coaxing information out of others. Further, he tends not to talk to people much at all.
